Gimp is what I use, too. It runs on about anything.
Papilio Label Helper. Label printing software. Label Distribution without pre-die cut labels sheets or labels? This label software is an ideal solution to print out production labels onto our decal paper and decal media such as our self adhesive polyester.
I use it on my Mac and there are Linux and Windows versions as well. Can you tell me what Gimp is and what can it do? Can you input your own artwork, for example. Where would I find it? Thank you, sir Just Google Gimp. Gimp is a very powerful image manipulation program.
Yes, you can input your own artwork, work over other images, create images, just about anything you want to do. Tons of filters and the like. The graphics you see on some of the rods I have posted are all done on Gimp.
It may not be quite as powerful as full blown Photoshop, but the price is certainly right as in free. Gimp is what I use, too. It runs on about anything. A little tip when making decals, print out a draft copy on plain paper first to check sizings and to get a feel of what it will look like on the rod. What looks good on the screen, wont always look good on a rod. A lot cheaper than wasting decal sheets as well. Since most of us are using ink jet printers for this, you need to be aware of the background, too. I paint the blank with Liquid Leaf in either gold or silver. Silver works pretty well as it is only slightly less luminescent than a white background. If you print for gold, however, you need to lighten everything up or it will be dull and flat.
Unless you have an ALPS printer or something similar, you can not print metallics or white. You have to adjust how you do things to make it work.
